This website and its email are hosted by a provider based in the EU. When you open a page, the server receives and may log your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user agent. The logs are kept only as long as needed. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in delivering the website and keeping it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
I use TelemetryDeck GmbH, a privacy-friendly analytics provider based in Germany, to see how many people visit and which pages they look at. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. When you open a page, TelemetryDeck receives the page address, the referring page, your language, your browser's user agent (browser, operating system, device type), and your IP address. The IP address is used only briefly, to derive your country and a visitor ID that changes daily (so each visitor is counted once per day), and is never stored. Data is processed on servers in Germany and the Netherlands. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding how this website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you email me, I use your address and message to reply and keep them as long as needed (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
This website links to other websites. Nothing is sent to them until you click a link; after that, their own privacy policies apply.
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), correct (Art. 16), or delete (Art. 17) your personal data, and to restrict its processing (Art. 18). Since the analytics data isn't linked to you as a person, I usually can't tell which records are yours. To exercise your rights, email me.
Right to object: you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on my legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
